[He adjusts the screen as something off screen gets his attention.]

Are you supposed to tell people before or the day of that it's your birthday? Because I forgot to do it before leaving! I picked today! Sorry, Naminé and Xion. I was gonna tell you! I swear!

[His gaze drifts off of the screen before flicking back to the feed.]

Oh yeah! Where's the best place to take bird Pokémon in Goldenrod?

[Roxas turned off the feed and stood there watching the sky for a while. Goldenrod wasn't as nice with the circus not in full swing. That had been fun. Maybe he could find something just as fun for his self-made birthday. Rin wouldn't be here for another week at least, so Roxas will take his time exploring.

He tells his Pokémon not to fly off too much in case he needs them, heading down to the bottom floor of the store to exit. Maybe he could find that Honeyed Soul place and get something sweet for himself. You're supposed to have cake, right?]

I don't know what a Honeyed Soul is supposed to look like...

The roof of the Department Store is pretty nice, and since I'm biased I'd suggest the circus.

[There's a squawk from off screen, and he laughs a little.]

Regal'd be happy to show off, after all. But I guess part of it depends on how strong of a flier the Pokemon is. There's a lot of places that are good for short flights if you want to stay in the city itself.

I can still visit the circus? I was here when the big birthday thing was going on. What kind of Pokémon is Regal? All of mine are strong fliers! They flew next to the train while I was coming here. Well, not Sky and Demyx. She likes being beside me, and Demyx is only a Ducklett. But Hayner tried to keep racing the train. It was fun to watch.

[He'll go on and on about his birds.]

Oh! Did you see the show? I was the one doing the air show. Regal's a Braviary. He's - hang on.

[He turns the camera around.]

Hey! Someone wants to see you.

[Regal puffs out his chest and stretches out his wings, trying to look fierce... but even with a beak it's hard to hide his goofy expression. Tobias turns the camera back around and grins.]

If they can carry you, taking a flight around the city is pretty fun. The city's good for flying since when it's sunny the warm air rises from the concrete, giving you a lot of updrafts.

[He looks really impressed. Even more when Regal comes on the screen.]

How's the flying at night? Fuu's my Noctowl, and she'd like that idea.

Yeah, it was! Flying types and bird-like Pokemon are my specialty.

[Hm... he looks thoughtful for a moment.]

Noctowls are kind of like owls... it should be fine? There's more flapping involved since you don't get the thermals that you would during the day, but owls are built for flying at night. Personally I don't like doing that, but I only really flew during the day at home, too.

You might want to take a test flight on them lower to the ground if you haven't tried flying before. Just to be safe.

Oh! I see. I've just... had a friend have a bad accident with a Pokemon that wasn't really ready to fly people yet.

He's fine now, but he got banged up a bunch. Some Flying types are just not really built to transport people, and even those that are... you can't expect every member of a species to act the same.

[He looks over at Regal again and smiles.]

I mean like... Braviary are supposed to be aggressive, but Regal's just... not. And that's okay.

I ask them if they want to fly before I do it. I don't ask the ones that aren't fully evolved. It's rude to just assume they'll carry you.

[Seeing someone that happy about their Pokémon makes him happy.]

That's one I'm hoping to get one day.

Yeah, exactly. Some of them are territorial too, and have certain places they just don't like flying, or are scared of, or they can tell there's another Pokemon around that has that area 'claimed'. Territory can be a big problem, though I've noticed that a lot of Pokemon aren't as bad as it as some of the birds back home.

... Braviary? Well... the next time I end up with Rufflet egg, do you want one?

.... Spearow are bad about that. I ran into some and they didn't like Hayner much. I didn't get a chance to catch one because there was so many!

I just... really like birds. I was one at home... most of the time.

I was born human. But we got the power to change into animals. There was a time limit. I went over the time limit and got stuck as a hawk. ... I got the power back later, but hawk was my 'normal' form after that.

[He's got the speech down by now.]

Does it? ... It doesn't really make much difference what you were born as. One of my best friends is an alien. We might come from different places, but we work together just fine.

Yeah, people get turned human when they get here. ... Maybe it's so people don't mistake them for Pokemon.

Maybe... I just know I like being a normal human.

Well... some of them are really advanced - they're the race that gave us the morphing technology. They have a lot of warriors as part of their culture... but the one I spent the most time with is basically just a teenager like the rest of us. He had trouble adjusting for a long time and he still had some trouble after that, but without that he's... pretty normal. He likes sweets, and terrible TV, and he likes learning, and he's loyal to his friends.

There's some aliens I know that are... big, but not usually at the same level of human intelligence. They're a little hard to deal with sometimes, but you just have to keep trying. But they're peaceful as much as possible despite looking scary, and they're generous and are good at defending people who need help.

... And then there's some other aliens I know. I guess individually they might not be so bad, and I kind of understand why they do what they do, but... they take people over. They go into their brains and you'd never even know. They try to infest more and more people so they can take over the world, and... it's... well. We won the war at home, but it was... bad. They're also more advanced, and for a long time it was just six of us fighting them.
