[It's clearly dark out, so there's a lantern set to the side to illuminate Roxas sitting on the ground. He's got a sleeping Zubat in his lap. Roxas doesn't look too happy about this. Who would be when you're camping under the stars and awoken for no good reason.]
I know not a lot of people are going be awake right now, but here I am.
[He sighs as he pulls the rather guilty looking Shinx of his closer. She's doing her best not to look at her trainer or the camera. This little girl is clearly in trouble for something, and she doesn't want anyone to know.]
If you have a Pokémon that's afraid of the dark, put them in a Pokéball or keep a light on. Else they'll attack the first thing that gets too close to your camp. Which is either you, or this Zubat. At least she was sleeping outside of the tent... Goodnight.
[With that he turns the gear off as the now freed Shinx runs off into the tent.]
[[ooc: if any of the other newbies are on route 30, feel free to find him.also assume it's later than the timestamp]]

Abra is a good choice, though it's somewhat difficult to work with in its first stage. Once fully evolved to Alakazam, though, it's an asset to any team. There's also Beldum, if you prefer hybrids. Steel and psychic make for an excellent combination, and Metagross is very powerful.

Where do I find those?

At any rate, even before you get your pyschic type you should be able to communicate with them. They can understand what you say, and you should try to learn to read their body language and expressions. It'll be hard, but trust me, it's worth it.

[Statement. Not a question.]

[Congratulations, Roxas, you just pushed one of her biggest buttons.]

How do you know what to ask?
no subject
Of course, if what you want to know is fairly small itself, you can skip that step.
no subject
That sounds like a lot of work... but it makes sense.
no subject
Well I'm glad you understood it, at least. I can't say that about everyone I know.
no subject
Me either...

Regardless, the question you should be worrying about right now is "how can I make my Pokemon respect me?" Which of course needs to be broken down by Pokemon first off, so perhaps it should be "What do my Pokemon respect?"

Has that been a huge problem in the past?

[Dangers of suffocation are a big thing.]

So, how have you been convincing her to ease up on that?
no subject
[Effective.]

Well... it's nice to know she understood. But you see? That's what I mean by making sure they understand why the rules are in place. She probably wouldn't have listened if you just told her to stop without explaining why.
