[It's clearly dark out, so there's a lantern set to the side to illuminate Roxas sitting on the ground. He's got a sleeping Zubat in his lap. Roxas doesn't look too happy about this. Who would be when you're camping under the stars and awoken for no good reason.]

I know not a lot of people are going be awake right now, but here I am.

[He sighs as he pulls the rather guilty looking Shinx of his closer. She's doing her best not to look at her trainer or the camera. This little girl is clearly in trouble for something, and she doesn't want anyone to know.]

If you have a Pokémon that's afraid of the dark, put them in a Pokéball or keep a light on. Else they'll attack the first thing that gets too close to your camp. Which is either you, or this Zubat. At least she was sleeping outside of the tent... Goodnight.

[With that he turns the gear off as the now freed Shinx runs off into the tent.]

The point is, you have no real experience talking to people from a position of authority. Which is, really, the root of all your problems.

I won't lie, this will be difficult to fix, but it can be done. The first thing you have to do is remember to be polite, but firm.

[Had he ever had a decent teacher in his life, he'd recognize how she's talking to him a little better.]

Well you aren't normally rude, so it's not like you'll have to change that much. It's really the firmness that I think needs work. Honestly, Roxas, you're a little soft.

But you're not used to it, so you aren't very good at it. It takes experience to know how best to lead, just like anything else, and you don't have that yet. That's hardly your fault, I'm certainly not judging you for it, but you need to analyze and accept your shortcomings if you're going to overcome them. I'm only trying to help you.

[One thing Twilight's learned quite well by this point is that honesty and rudeness are not the same thing... no matter what some people might claim.]

First things first, you need to set some ground rules. Let's brainstorm, here. What are some things you absolutely want all of your Pokemon to do? Or not do, as the case may be? What sort of behaviors do you want to foster in your team?

That's... very specific. Okay, let's broaden that a bit. Is it fair of me to assume you don't like it when they do that because it keeps you up at night?

Okay, so let's make a rule out of that. No being loud and waking people up at night.

Now, you'll have to enforce that rule. It's all about making them aware that breaking the rules won't be tolerated, while also making sure they understand why the rules are in place.

As soon as possible, yes. Remember, you'll have to be strict, but it's also important to make sure they understand. Punishing them for something they can't figure out is just going to make them mad at you.

They tend to make a lot of things simpler, I've found.

Don't worry, of all the psychic types out there an Espurr is one of the last I'd recommend. Also, don't get a Slowpoke.

Abra is a good choice, though it's somewhat difficult to work with in its first stage. Once fully evolved to Alakazam, though, it's an asset to any team. There's also Beldum, if you prefer hybrids. Steel and psychic make for an excellent combination, and Metagross is very powerful.

Abra is pretty easy. I found mine just north of Goldenrod. Beldum's a bit trickier but you should be able to pick one up in the Ruins of Alph. The grassy areas, though, not the inside where all the Unown are.

I can't argue with that logic, especially since steel is a very useful type, as long as you avoid ground and fire. Fighting would usually be a problem, but as it's part psychic, that won't be an issue.

At any rate, even before you get your pyschic type you should be able to communicate with them. They can understand what you say, and you should try to learn to read their body language and expressions. It'll be hard, but trust me, it's worth it.

And try to see what they do when they're feeling a certain way. It's a bit of an inexact science, but you'll figure it out with practice.
